Abstract

Malaria is a life-threatening disease that is transmitted to humans through the bite of a female Anopheles mosquito infected by the parasite/Plasmodium malaria. Knowledge is the result of human sensing, or the result of someone knowing about objects through the senses they have (eyes, nose, ears). The purpose of this study was to measure the level of public knowledge about malaria in the village of Nimbokrang Benyom Jaya 1. The research method used in this study was descriptive. This research was conducted in July 2022 with a total of 97 respondents who have inclusion criteria. The results obtained from the characteristics of respondents in the village of Nimbokrang Benyom Jaya 1, that the highest respondents were in the age group 26–35 years as many as 33 respondents (34%). Male sex as many as 52 respondents (54%). The last education was SMA as many as 48 respondents (49%) and other occupations as many as 36 respondents (32%). The level of knowledge about malaria in the good category was 91 respondents (94%). The level of knowledge about malaria prevention in the good category was 48 respondents (49%). The level of knowledge about the treatment of malaria in the good category was 77 respondents (87%). The level of knowledge about the spread of malaria in the good category was 80 respondents (80%). From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the level of knowledge of malaria in the village of Nimbokrang Benyom Jaya 1 is in the good category.
