Most people still doubt the quality of generic drugs because they see the price is much cheaper than drugs with trade names. Even though in fact the quality of generic drugs with branded generic drugs has the same effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to compare the physical quality of generic and branded generic griseofulvin tablets circulating in Jayapura Regency. This study used an experimental method with data analysis using the SPSS version 26 application. The samples used in this study were generic and branded generic 500 mg griseofulvin tablets, both samples were taken from different pharmacies in the Jayapura district. This research was conducted at the Jayapura Polytechnic Pharmaceuticals Laboratory in June 2022. The physical quality tests carried out in this study included weight uniformity, size uniformity, hardness, friability and disintegration time. From the 5 tests carried out, it can be concluded that there were 3 tests that did not meet the requirements according to the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia, the tests were size uniformity tests, hardness tests, and friability tests while for weight uniformity tests and disintegration times met the requirements.
