Abstract
Malaria is a disease caused by Plasmodium. Treatment and prevention of malaria is also influenced by knowledge, attitudes and actions. The low level of public knowledge about the causes, prevention and treatment of malaria greatly influences the spread of the disease. The aim of this research is to determine the level of knowledge and attitudes of the community regarding malaria in Koya Timur Village RW 012 in 2023. The research method used in this research is descriptive, with a population of 597 people. The sample in this study was 86 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. This research was conducted in June 2023 in Koya Timur sub-district RW 012 with a questionnaire instrument containing 14 questions. Results obtained from the characteristics of respondents in Koya Timur RW Subdistrict 012, that the highest respondents were in the 17–25 year age group with 38 respondents (44%). Gender: 44 respondents (51%) were male. 43 respondents (50%) had a high school education and 41 respondents (48%) had a farmer occupation. The level of knowledge about malaria was in the good category for 41 respondents (48%). Attitudes about malaria were mostly in the positive category, 86 respondents (100%). From the research results, it can be concluded that the level of knowledge about malaria is good and they have a positive attitude towards malaria.
