Abstract

Malaria is a disease caused by the Plasmodium parasite and transmitted by the Anopheles mosquito. One type of malaria, tertiana /vivax malaria, caused by Plasmodium vivax is a mild but most commonly relapsed malaria and treatment takes up to 14 days using primacular. This study aims to find out the picture of compliance with the use of primaquine drugs in the treatment of malaria vivax at Community Sentani Health Center. This type of study is descriptive, with the population in this study being vivax malaria patients who obtained the drug primakuin and returned 14 days after taking the primacocus drug in June 2021 as many as 31 respondents. The sample of this study was a total population of 31 respondents. The results of this study obtained characteristics of respondents the highest at the age of ≥15 years as many as 17 respondents (55%), the weight group >17-30 kg and >40-60 kg each as many as 9 respondents (29%), female sex as many as 16 respondents (52%), the last education has not been schooled as many as 9 respondents (29%) and work as many as 16 respondents (51%). Screening 31 prescriptions (100%) is incomplete. A total of 5 aspects of 8 aspects of prescription screening administratively do not list the room/unit of prescription origin as many as 31 prescriptions (100%), patient weight as many as 30 prescriptions (90.6%), doctor names 28 prescriptions (90.3%), doctors 20 prescriptions (64.5%) and prescription date 8 prescriptions (25.8%). The highest dose of primaquine with 15 respondents (49%) with the administration of 15 mg and the accuracy of the primacy dose was obtained exactly as many as 27 respondents (87%). The frequency of primacy of drug administration as many as 31 respondents (100%) with giving every 1 time a day and the accuracy of the frequency of primaquine drug administration was obtained exactly as many as 31 respondents (100%). The length of administration of primaquine drugs for 14 days was as many as 29 respondents (94%) and the accuracy of the length of the giving was obtained exactly as much as 29 respondents (94%). The description of adherence to the use of primaquine drugs in vivax malaria patients in Sentani Health Center was categorized as compliant as many as 15 respondents (48%).
