Abstract

Malaria is a disease caused by the plasmodium parasite transmitted through the bite of female Anopheles mosquitoes. Malaria is an infectious disease that causes the fifth death in the world after respiratory infections, HIV/AIDS, diarrhea and tuberculosis. In Keerom Regency in 2022, it was reported by the Keerom District Health Service that there were 21,469 cases of malaria with the number of cases at the Arso III Health Center being 4,726 cases. The aim of this research is to determine the level of knowledge and attitudes regarding malaria in the community at the Arso III District Health Center. Keerom. This research uses descriptive research using a questionnaire instrument given to respondents. This research was conducted in June 2023. The results were obtained from the characteristics of respondents at the Arso III Community Health Center, district. Keerom, that the highest respondents were in the 46-55 year age group with 26 respondents (26%). The most common gender is female, 63 respondents (63%). The highest level of education was high school for 47 respondents (47%) and other occupations for 56 respondents (56%) consisting of 13 respondents as traders, 26 respondents as farmers, 17 as housewives. The level of knowledge about malaria was in the sufficient category for 43 respondents (43%). Attitudes about malaria were mostly in the positive category with 100 respondents (100%). From the research results, it can be concluded that the level of malaria knowledge
is sufficient and there is a positive attitude towards malaria.
