Abstract

Chronic kidney disease has become a public health problem around the world. Patients with chronic renal failure (creatinine clearance <15 ml / min) have undergone hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis and their numbers are increasing from year to year. This dialysis therapy is experienced by sufferers of chronic kidney failure throughout their life so that it will affect their quality of life. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the differences in quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure with hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis in the Hemodialysis Room of Dr. Moewardi. This type of research is quantitative (comparative descriptive) with a cross sectional approach. The data analysis used was the t-test. The description of the components of the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure with peritoneal dialysis is better than that of hemodialysis patients. The t-test shows that the Mean Different is 68.90 and 83.95 so that there is a difference in the mean value of 15.05 and the calculation is carried out which results in - th <-tt (-4.366 <-2.024). There are differences in the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure with hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
