Abstract

Background: Corona virus or severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (Sars-Cov-2) is a virus that attacks the respiratory system which can cause mild disorders of the respiratory system, severe lung infections and even death.
Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and public attitudes towards compliance with the use of masks as an effort to prevent Covid-19 at the Hamadi Health Center, Jayapura City.
Type of research: This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design.
Population and sample: The population of this research is 1,294 respondents with a total sample of 93 respondents. The method used is probability sampling sample. The instrument used is a questionnaire This study uses the chi square statistical test.
Results: Based on the results of research and analysis of statistical tests for knowledge of adherence to the use of masks obtained a value (p> 0.05) and for attitudes towards adherence to the use of masks obtained a value (p> 0.05).
Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a relationship between Knowledge and Attitude towards Compliance with the use of masks at the Hamadi Health Center in Jayapura City. Suggestion: research is to be able to add more samples from further research
